I have a love and hate relationship with the city of Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina. As I child, I was obsessed with it. I did not live there but had visited it several times and loved it. I had family and friends there so I never got bored. When I finished High School, I moved to the city to go to college. For the next ten years I moved around three times, changed jobs and careers, and never had anything missing. Buenos Aires had everything to offer. Yet, three years ago I decided that enough was enough. Buenos Aires is a great place to visit, but I could not live there a minute longer. People blowing the car horns at anything, buses parking across streets, elderly people having to avoid loose tiles, cars parked in corners, floods, cuts, traffic. No, there is no way I could have stayed. I respect the people that decide to raise their children here, the people that love the nightlife of this wonderful city. I cannot stand a minute longer the whining of porteños. Having left the city made me realize how much its inhabitants complain. I am a natural complainer so it is better for me to stay away from a place that makes me complain about anything. If you have never visited Buenos Aires, you should. You won’t be bored.
